Description
Our relationships need to be better. Most of us know that philanthropy has a power-imbalance problem with the organizations and communities we aim to serve. It's time to acknowledge the elephant in the room and figure out how to address it!

Get ready for a rocket ship ride to a future filled with epic partnerships grounded in equality, trust, and creativity—partnerships that help us think bigger, bolder, and better about social change. In this session, we’ll discuss the relationship between foundations and nonprofits, and how we can all work together more effectively to unleash our potential. Jessamyn Shams-Lau, executive director of the Peery Foundation and co-author of Unicorns Unite, will share how foundations can take a grantee-centric approach to philanthropy to create more meaningful interactions with nonprofits that help us address the power dynamic inherent in our work.

We'll also cover how to continue the conversation back in the office, with a series of thought-provoking exercises for you to take back to your team, your partners, and your board. Join us for a fun and practical session about creating epic partnerships that can truly tackle complex problems and achieve incredible feats of social change!
