Kim Rich is the Executive Director of Advancement Services and Annual Giving at the Medical University of South Carolina. She currently leads the data, tech and annual giving teams for MUSC’s Central Development. Kim leads the team that is responsible for the management and maintenance of development databases including insuring the integrity of data, reporting, and donor research. Her team is also responsible for managing annual giving fundraising which includes direct mail, call center and the staff and faculty giving campaign. She serves as a senior member of central development leadership team and recently attended the Johns Hopkins Medical Philanthropy Institute.

Kim joined the Artificial Intelligence in Advancement Advisory Council last year and was instrumental in creating the partnership of the Council and the Association of Advancement Services Professionals Group. She has a keen interest in utilizing AI in the advancement space in an ethically sound and sustainable way. The Council's first major publication was produced in July and is the first State of Artificial Intelligence in Advancement Report.

A native of Tennessee, Kim's career spans 20+ years in the nonprofit and advancement sectors. Having previously served as Development Services Manager at the South Carolina Aquarium, Kim assisted in the creation of the Sea Turtle Rescue fundraising program there. She also served as Director of Computer and Information Systems at The Citadel Foundation and served as a consultant in the arts and cultural space at Blackbaud.
