Leah began her career in law, working as a legal assistant, billing clerk and bookkeeper for 9 years. She moved into the non-profit sector when she joined Carolina Youth Development Center as an Accounting Analyst and was first introduced to Blackbaud products and their many uses! After spending 3 years at CYDC, she stepped back into the public sector as the Assistant Controller for William M. Bird & Co., Inc., a floorcovering wholesaler. Following her 10 years in the private sector, her love for the non-profit world led her back to her true calling to become the Endowment Funds Manager, later Assistant Director of Investments, for the College of Charleston’s Foundation. For the past 9 years, she has been responsible for managing over 500 endowment funds, financial accounting related to investments, endowment and campus reporting, as well as budgeting for programs, scholarships, chairs, and awards. She acts as Foundation Board Liaison to the Investment Committee, assists the Director of Finance and works closely with Stewardship and Donor Relations.
Leah currently works remotely for the College’s Foundation and lives in Brooklet, Georgia with her husband and two children, ages 17 and 10. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends and relaxing whenever possible. She loves watching baseball, softball and football. She is also the PTO Treasurer at her daughter’s elementary school and is involved in the Athletic Booster Club at her son’s high school.
