Technical Solutions Engineer
Jennifer joined the Technical Solutions Team at Blackbaud in 2016 and is thrilled to be back at BBCON Nashville! Her technical career started somewhat accidentally by receiving a computer programming internship after graduating with and English and French degree. After several years working with dot-coms and tech startups, she landed a dream job as a Business Analyst for a large museum. The transition from the corporate world to the fundraising/non-profit side of museum operations and fundraising was a welcome one, and further sparked her passion for how technology can improve our experiences at the human level. She can also translate tech speak into plain English!
Jennifer is still a Midwestern girl at heart, having grown up in Illinois and Indiana. She escaped Amish Country after graduating from Indiana University, and headed West. She called Seattle home for several years, and she now happily lives in sunny Long Beach California and works remotely. She is an avid runner (by choice) and after having completed her first 60-mile ultramarathon last May, her dream is to join the 100-mile club in 2020. She surrounds herself with as much nature, art, music, and reading as possible. She volunteers with several organizations locally, including the American Red Cross, Up and Running Again, Achilles International, and the Long Beach Animal Shelter. Her muse is her 16-year-old cat Mona, who’s been by her side since Day 1. Her favorite emoji is the eye-roll.
Jennifer has been using Blackbaud products both as a client and as a Solutions Engineer for over 10 years, and has professional certifications in Altru, eTapestry, Raiser’s Edge/NXT, ResearchPoint, Peer-to-Peer fundraising, and Non-Profit Operations. Having worked on the client side allows her to better understand and empathize their needs and as they work with Blackbaud to enhance their operations and fundraising. She likes to think of her job title sometimes as “Librarian”, to help clients navigate the tools and resources to accomplish their goals.
