With more than 15 years of community leadership, global finance and business development expertise in corporate and media sectors, Ms. Washington executes programming and strategy for the DTE Energy Foundation, which awarded more than $18 million in grants in 2017. In this role, she manages the implementation and engagement of grant funding to more than 300 nonprofit organizations focused on, but not limited to, education and employment, economic development, arts and culture, and environmental progress.

Prior to this role, Ms. Washington worked in the Gas Controllers and the Investor Relations Team at DTE Energy where she was responsible for forecasting, peer benchmarking, and the analysis of company valuations and market risks.

Prior to joining the Foundation, Ms. Washington served as Director of Project Finance for Sesame Workshop, a global media company, where she was the finance and strategy lead for more than $200M in multimedia platform projects that included television, licensing, themed entertainment, retail, digital, corporate sponsorship and community outreach. She oversaw a team specifically focused on Sesame International Projects in the UK, South Africa, Nigeria, Tanzania, Ghana, Bangladesh, and China.

A native of greater Detroit, Ms. Washington holds a Masters of Business Administration from Cornell University’s Johnson School of Business and a Bachelor of Arts from Columbia University.
Ms. Washington is an avid skier and traveler, gravitating to locations where she can practice her French.
