Kirk Lilwall is a Senior Instructor with Blackbaud University, based in Toronto, ON. Kirk has more than 16 years of experience in various aspects of education, and takes a communal, interactive approach to instruction. As a Delivery Lead, he is the sole instructor for Blackbaud University education efforts in Canada.
Kirk began his education career in 2002 when he travelled to Busan, South Korea, to teach English. Upon returning to Toronto, he created and implemented education programs at the Humber Arboretum and Nature Centre, from 2004–2008. Kirk brings his passion for storytelling to his instruction, which is more interactive and conversational than traditional teaching methods. A complement to his passion for education, Kirk also embraces a passion for filmmaking, specifically documentary films. He spent 10 years in the film industry making documentaries, and 7 years teaching filmmaking to students at Toronto’s Seneca College.
Kirk is also a Blackbaud Certified user for Luminate Online, eTapestry, Organizational Best Practices (Fundraising and Marketing offerings), and is certified at the Professional level in Raiser’s Edge.
