James Citron is a social entrepreneur, investor, and philanthropist committed to using AI and business as a force for good. As CEO of Pledge, named Fast Company’s #2 Most Innovative Company in the world, Citron has raised over $250 million for 75,000 nonprofits globally. While running Pledge, he's helped to fund over 1 billion meals to end childhood hunger, clean drinking water for 1 million people, and helped power the largest civilian evacuation in American history, saving over 2,000 lives during the fall of Afghanistan. As a native Angeleno, James and his team have been instrumental in the rebuilding of Los Angeles post-fires, working with local government, top business leaders, and nonprofits to rebuild the greatest city in the world. James serves on multiple nonprofit boards, including LA-Tech, which has provided over 2,000 tech internships to Angelenos from historically underserved communities. Prior to Pledge, James built and sold two companies in the mobile industry, leading to successful exits to Blackstone & Silver Lake companies. James is personally passionate about helping to eradicate illiteracy, homelessness, and hunger and empowering female entrepreneurship. Citron is a graduate of Princeton University and lives in Venice with his wife and two children.
