Cheryl joined Sanford School following a 25-year career in broadcasting, corporate public relations, and communications consulting. As a member of the school’s Executive Leadership Team, Cheryl is responsible for leading the communications, marketing, and technology programs. Her role includes developing strategic initiatives, serving as the school’s media liaison and spokesperson, creating internal and external communications, serving on the Crisis Management Team, and managing in-house and freelance team members.
Her accomplishments at Sanford include developing branding guidelines and growing the school’s brand, building robust and diverse advertising and communications programs, launching and managing two new websites—working with Whipplehill/Blackbaud—within a five-year period, introducing and analyzing internal and external research to support employee, student, and parent satisfaction, and serving on the Blackbaud K–12 Advisory Board.
A recipient of local and national awards, Cheryl has been recognized by the International Association of Business Communicators, the Public Relations Society of America, the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Delaware Press Association, and the National Federation of Press Women.
In her free time, Cheryl enjoys traveling, attending Broadway productions, and spending time with her family.
