Teachers are adapting their curriculum and instruction in profound ways in anticipation of this fall term. In such a context, how do we grade in ways that ensure accuracy and equity? In this session, you'll learn how our use of traditional grading practices, even before the pandemic, often undermined effective teaching and learning and inadvertently perpetuated achievement disparities. We'll also cover:
• Examples of equitable grading practices
• How equitable grading practices reduce stress, improve achievement for historically under-served student populations, and decrease grade inflation
• How these practices are specifically beneficial in a remote learning context

This is the perfect time to critically examine our grading practices and align them with our best teaching (remote or in-person) and our commitment to every student's success.
