Since the pandemic began, organizations have been looking for new ways to engage constituents in peer-to-peer fundraising in a world where traditional in-person events are no longer possible. By integrating with popular fitness tracking apps such as Strava, JDRF has been able to keep its walkers, runners, and cyclists involved with the organization, with weekly fitness and fundraising challenges. The organization has even been able to use these fitness challenges to solicit corporate donations from sponsors that are themselves eager to find ways to engage their employees. This presentation will cover how they integrated fitness tracking into their TeamRaiser website in 2020, and how they plan to expand on it going forward, even after the pandemic subsides.
