Over Christmas & New Year just past we developed Letter Box, the "easy button" for personalized communications in Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT. It was a crazy ride!! In this session Red Arc's Stu Hawkins unpacks the guiding principles behind this reckless plan and how these principles got us through with our sanity intact (ish) to create a wildly popular (and oh so useful) app!!

Keeping your data clean and your data architecture aligned with common practice is hard work, but it pays off! In this session, we will explore how a very long and sometimes intense effort to structure our Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT data with the end-goal in mind, put us in a much stronger position to present organizational data intelligence and visualization using Power BI. Now we're in a stronger place where Power BI drives user adoption of Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT and data maturity. Join me as we take a trip through my and my organization's journey toward Power BI, how this has transformed my role as DBA and elevated the role of the data team at my organization.

Data is the key to determining the challenges our fundraising teams face and the accomplishments they make. As technology evolves, data access requires new tools, especially when that data's stored in private vendor clouds (an increasingly common practice). In 2021, Children's Minnesota Foundation partnered with The Zuri Group to develop Aqueduct. This has become The Foundation’s turn-key data-aggregation solution to aggregate and strategically use data from Blackbaud’s Private Cloud as well as other in-house systems. We will describe our journey starting with a focus on acquiring the data, loading a data warehouse, and building the mechanisms to view and interact with the data. All this comes together in an Aqueduct-delivered dimensional data warehouse that allows us to efficiently use enterprise reporting tools (Power BI and Reporting Services) to drive important and impactful data-driven decisions.

It's a grind to get up-to-the-minute program balances in an easily digestible form without having to close your fiscal year or run a process to summarize your balances every night. Ledger summary solves this with the ability to listen to what is posted to your ledger, and a few minutes later updating your balances for projects, classes, transaction codes and more in a continuous process that runs in the background.

In this lab we take a look at the many of the often overlooked data points available via the API as well as S-Tags you may not know about to really personalize your member center or donor portal.

Walk through the process of performing conditional merges for donor acknowledgement letters using Power Automate. By the end of this lab, you'll be able to pull a list from RE NXT of donations that need to be acknowledged and populate different acknowledgment letter templates.

In this hands-on, step-by-step session we'll create a Power BI report with Dax and Visualizations using a Dimensional Data Model. Throughout this session, I'll also share experiences with building a culture that supports making data-based decisions so you can ensure that groups from development to end-users understand how the pieces work together and quickly get results.

Follow along as Austen and Stacy create and test a complete Power Automate flow that helps find duplicate constituent records in Raiser's Edge NXT. They'll also show you some of the bugs they encountered and other lessons learned in the setup.

Use jQuery and the Font Awesome font family to manipulate the label of a Luminate Online donation form 'submit' button to add a padlock icon and/or PayPal logo to build trust with donors and, e.g. if PayPal is selected as a payment option, encourage them to proceed to the next step by relabeling the button when the PayPal payment method toggle button is chosen by the donor.
